Lightdance 365, January 31, 2014 – BALANCE

Simply standing on the Bosu Ball is not enough of a balancing challenge for William, so he added wheels via the baby’s go-kart. The real challenge will be when he can stand up on the go-kart, but I don’t want to be around for that!

Lightdance, June 1, 2011

One way to handle 95 degree temperatures is to jump in the water.  Looks like we’ll be doing a lot of jumping in the days to come, and it’s only the first of June! Seems like only last week there were warnings to protect plants from frost.

Absorbed in Pokemon at McDonald's

My grandson graduated from kindergarten yesterday morning, and spent the rest of the day with me.  We went to McDonald’s for lunch and some active time on the play equipment.  Even though we went after 1:00 in order to save my ears from echoing, screaming exhuberance, William managed to find a friend with a DS, and they alternated scrambling through the play maze with trading Pokemons, whatever that means.  I occupied myself by taking pictures with my phone camera and the Hipstamatic app.

The following picture is of the pocket on the outside of my purse.  Yes, I was getting a little desperate.

Watching this little boy play makes me want to find the place where I stored my own imagination, and start to use it again!

Portrait of a brother and sister

Could I convince anyone that this sweet little scene wasn’t posed? I had to trade him his cooperation for a promise that I would participate in his bow and arrow hunt among the bamboo stalks right after the picture. I think I was supposed to be the quarry, but since his bow and arrow is crafted from Lincoln Logs, I wasn’t in too much danger.
