March 4, 2014 – Une Perle

Mardi Gras celebrations leave trees dripping with green, gold and purple beads.  At Radnor Lake during Mardi Gras this year, Mother Nature liked the idea, but used ice and silver in her decorating scheme.  Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Something New

Lightdance 365, January 1, 2014 – SOMETHING NEW

Happy New Year!

Today is something new – a brand new year! The pile of discarded Christmas trees from that old year, 2013, grows higher every day at Radnor Lake, and along with it, the wonderful aroma of pine. The trees will be mulched and spread on the trails. It’s lovely to walk on, and the pine smell stays for months. Which came first, the old or the new? I do have the same old resolutions. Unchanged. Might as well toss them in the Christmas tree pile, and then I could walk on them in the coming months. They would be more useful that way.

Here’s to 2014, and something new, and/or something old!

O Christmas Tree

This is my tree. It took me longer than I thought to make you remove the skirt and all those packages so I could eat the lower branches. Yum. I like to climb this tree, too. I'm going to stay here all the time. It's my new favorite spot.

No, it's my tree. It took me forever to remove all the ornaments up to this point. Now I'm going to work on the the rest up to the top of the tree. Don't worry about me falling. Ha, you thought I would pull the tree over, but I didn't. I'm very exile.

365 Project, December 20, 2013 – Gift

Home baked pumpkin bread and glittery deer ornaments all ready to give as gifts to the Dear Deers at our annual Christmas lunch. Every day of the year we give each other the gift our our friendship as we Dance with Deers at Radnor Lake.

The Deer Dears minus one, but I'm not far.

Accessorized

Project 365 Challenge for December 16, 2013 – Accessorized

The perfect recipe for creating a photo from the word “Accessorized”,  is to go to a friend’s house for a cookie baking party, and see crystal bowls full of antique Christmas tree ornaments on her dining room table. How could a table be any more appropriately accessorized on the 16th of December? And, if you are interested in a beautifully restored 19th century carriage house turned into a guest cottage for a unique getaway, check out http://www.mulberryhousenashville.com. It is the creatively designed and accessorized brainchild of my friend and her husband. She might not have any cookies left to serve, however, because we ate them all. OK, we didn’t eat any. We’re giving them away to friends and family who haven’t had a high enough sugar intake yet this holiday season.

Ritual

Project 365 for December 14, 2013 – Ritual

If you were building a house and your contractors ate all your construction materials, you would fire them, right? Not I! Every year I hire the same crew, and every year the construction materials are consumed before the house is built.  It’s a ritual.
