A photo a day project puts the emphasis of the day right where it should be, with a camera in the hand!  The next best thing to taking pictures is sharing them, so I hope there will be some who will enjoy the results of my project, by viewing, commenting or even starting such a project of their own. If everyone developed a passion for taking pictures, world peace could not be far behind. So, maybe that’s a little over-optimistic.

There are no rules for my project. Any camera and any subject will do. The photo of the day does not necessarily have to be taken on the day it appears. My only reasons for doing this are to keep shooting, experimenting, learning and having fun with photography.

Some of my photos of the day will also appear in a different format at my Three Dog Studio Art and Photo Journal.  I’m longer winded there, writing about places, people, events and family, and filling it with the photos I take and the art I love to make.  You’re welcome there, too!

  1. Great idea for a web site. I was doing something similar for over a year. It became sometimes stressful “feeling obligated” to post a photo each day, so eventually I stopped. I now regret having stopped as it did help to get me out shooting.
    Love your photos.

  2. @Ed Stanton Thanks for stopping by and for your comment. At times I’ve felt a little stressed about it, too, even though I said there were no rules, and that I didn’t have to post something every day. Now it’s a habit and fits right into the day with everything else. You can always start yours up again!

I stumbled on your blog completely by accident and have been checking in a couple of times a month for about 3 months. I am a photographer based on Malibu specializing in nature and family photography. I just wanted to let you know that I love to see your latest shots, and think you’re doing a great job. I have no idea how you do all the photoshop effects, but always enjoy looking at them, and marvel at your creativity. Thanks for sharing!

    • Thank you, Emma, for taking the time to write such a nice note. I haven’t posted as much as usual lately, but I will get back to it, and I hope that you will continue to check in once in awhile! There was no website information listed for you, but I would love to see your photography. Karol
